Spanish & Illinois Summer Internships/Prácticas
Our summer internship program places students in Illinois organizations that serve Spanish-speaking communities. Students are given an opportunity to collaborate with individuals at host internship sites to complete meaningful projects, aid community members and communicate with Latino clients.
Interns work full-time for eight weeks and are paid $10 an hour. Only students that have taken "Spanish & Entrepreneurship" (SPAN 332) and/or "Spanish in the Community" (SPAN 232) may apply.
University of Illinois Extension selects our internship partners based on their community service spirit and their commitment to the Latino community. On the job, interns use the language skills and knowledge of Latino cultures and entrepreneurship that they acquired in the classroom and in their community-based learning service.
The Spanish & Illinois Summer Internships are made possible by funding from the Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
